Mannu Kannu at the Bahuroopi Theater Festival—Mysuru

Land and Lens was honoured to present at the 2019 Bahuroopi Theater Festival. Many of our student artists were able to meet the public—and their photos inspired thoughtful and lively discussions at this very well-attended exhibition.

Thank you Rangayana, our many tireless volunteers, and the good people of Mysuru. We’ll all remember this occasion fondly for a good time to come.

A Soft Announcement

For anyone looking, a soft announcement of our upcoming photo exhibition in Bangalore. Here’s our curator Suresh meeting with our photo framers in Sirsi.

First Online Preview of the Land and Lens Project Photos

And finally—

This video features the first public preview of the Land and Lens project photos.

Showcased here is the photography of 9 intergenerational women from rural India, who were part of the Land and Lens project in Karnataka—2017. None of these women had before held a professional-level camera.

Each photography student received basic camera training throughout the project—and as many as 3 week-long self-guided sessions with their donated camera. The photos you see in this video were taken during those independent sessions.

Enjoy the show!
